Lesley Alcock

My name is Lesley Alcock and I live with my partner and two grown-up children.

I have been a nurse for 26 years and have in the recent past been employed as a consultant for a local private slimming company, providing individualised weekly menu plans.

I have had a weight problem throughout my adult life, so, after attending various groups and clubs I am now embarking on my ambition of running my own using scientifically proven methods of weight loss.

In my ‘day job’ I care for people who have suffered a stroke. Many of these people are overweight or obese which may have contributed to them having a stroke. Their weight issues will certainly impede their rehabilitation.

It is with this in mind, and the adage that prevention is better than cure, that I hope to encourage and support clients in achieving their ideal weight and to continue that support, encouraging them to make healthy choices into the future.

I will be providing one-to-one 15 minute sessions with the option of planning your own menus, with support and guidance, or having a weekly menu taylored to suit your lifestyle. The registration session will be 30minutes to allow for an adequate assessment of your individual needs.

Andrew Colclough

Andrew Colclough (BA Hons) MICHT

Andrew is in his third year of study for a diploma in Shiatsu. He is also a qualified massage therapist.

Shiatsu is a Japanese therapy, based on the principal that vital energy flows throughout the bode in a series of channels called meridians. According to this principal our health is affected when this energy stops flowing freely. Shiatsu practitioners use thumb and palm pressure, stretching and other techniques to restore the balance of energy.

Common conditions that may be treated by Shiatsu practitioners include back pain, headache and migraine, whiplash injuries and neck stiffness, joint pain and reduced mobility, menstrual and digestive problems, asthmatic symptoms, sports injuries and depression. Shiatsu is a truly holistic therapy and aims to treat all aspects of a person’s physical and emotional heath.

Andrew is currently a student practitioner of Shiatsu and offers treatments at a reduced rate in order to undertake regular practice for his diploma.

Anne Huckerby

I became interested in Holistic therapies after having 2 spinal operations which left me with chronic pain. The medical profession could not treat me any further and wanted to manage my pain with drugs. It was then that I decided to look into alternative methods of managing my pain.
I took Reiki I in 2003 and since then have trained in Indian Head Massage, Crystal Therapy, Hopi Ear Candles, and went on to become a Reiki Master/Teacher in January 2007. Since then I have completed an Adult Education Teachers certificate and now train others in Reiki and Hopi Ear Candles.
In September 2007 I began a support group for Holistic Therapists in the Derbyshire/Staffordshire area which brings therapists together to help and give support to each other. The meetings are open, not just to therapists, but to anyone who has an interest in Holistic Therapies. We have speakers who come along and give talks on various subjects, ranging from Crystals to talks on successful business practices.
If you are interested in any of the workshops or coming along to one of the meetings, please do not hesitate to contact me on 07985 421334 or e-mail
